----------------------------------------------
#4. Assistance- new scam alert.

The following is a new scam making the rounds. Apparently someone is attempting to scam by using a legitimate firm as their foundation.

"From:
adeccorecuk@o2.co.uk
Subject: Assistance

"Hello,

"I will appreciate if you could just read through this mail carefully and get back to me with a response. My name is P.Benson and i am an employment consultant. I consult for many US based IT firms.

"My job is to employ and pay workers from here to work in retail department stores serviced by my cleint. However, the terms of my contract stipulates that all payments should be transacted in U.S bills such as certified U.S Postal Money Orders. But given the fact that i operate here in the UK, they do not accept U.S bills, so i am seeking a partner who would be helping me cash the money orders and then send them to me over here in the UK for payment of my staff.

"For your services, i would pay you $300 commission for every transation which should be twice in a month for the next 18 months. However i would require than that you give me proof of honesty and a verifiable address and possibly a reference.

"I await your responce.

P.Benson.
Adecco Rec Solutions
United Kingdom DA6 7DU
adecco.co.uk"

Webmasters notes:

#1.  "U.S Postal Money Orders" can be cashed worldwide.

#2. To the best of my knowledge, there is no such thing as a "certified U.S Postal Money Order".

#3. The "proof of honesty" often means to send them money up front, BEFORE they send you a reply. Once they have your money, you'll NEVER hear from them again.

#4. A serach of Google.com for  "Adecco Rec Solutions":
http://www.google.com/search?q=Adecco+Rec+Solutions shows a website address http://www.adecco.co.uk/ for "Adecco Rec Solutions".

#5. The mailing address given on the website is: Adecco UK,
Elstree Way,
Borehamwood,
Hertfordshire,
United Kingdom.

#2. "Meth" Bill Would Limit Some Cough Syrup Sales.

In a rare show of bipartisan unity, the Senate Judiciary Committee has
voted unanimously to limit consumer access to over-the-counter cold
remedies containing pseudoephedrine. Pseudoephedrine is one of the key
ingredients in methamphetamine - an illegal drug that has become a
scourge, especially in rural areas.
