#1. Holmes Group Expands Recall of Slow Cookers.

Name of Product: RivalŪ Slow Cooker

Units: About 2.6 million

Manufacturer: The Holmes Group, of Milford, Mass.

Sold at: Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target and additional discount department
stores nationwide from January 1999 through May 2005 for between $15 and
$40.

#2. "Meth" Bill Would Limit Some Cough Syrup Sales.

In a rare show of bipartisan unity, the Senate Judiciary Committee has
voted unanimously to limit consumer access to over-the-counter cold
remedies containing pseudoephedrine. Pseudoephedrine is one of the key
ingredients in methamphetamine - an illegal drug that has become a
scourge, especially in rural areas.

#3. Curry Spice and Skin Cancer.

Melanomas as you probably know, are the deadliest and toughest to treat
skin cancers. Apparently curcumin may help fight them.
